Moving to Essex, looking at Loughton/Buckhurst Hill, and Brentwood/Shenfield , want to be near tube/train . Any other areas to consider?

Sorry to hear that you've fallen on bad times.

All depends on where you work, how much of a commute you can handle and how much money you have / are happy to borrow. Also is there a Mrs Shitcunt and cuntlets? And what do you want for them in term of schools, social life etc.
If you can handle a car trip to a station car park there are infinitely better places than those you have mentioned. Depends what you are after, rural sticksville bliss or a bit more towny?
Not that the places that you have mentioned are at all terrible when compared to the many 'edgy ' and 'vibrant' shitholes with outrageously overpriced property in London.
Crossrail / the Lizzy Line will open up a lot of faster commuting options when it kicks in from Shenfield / Brentwood. Some lovely villages in driving distance but maybe not what you are looking for.
With a handful of exceptions anywhere south of the A127 should be avoided if at all possible. Certainly do your research if you are tempted that way.

Raymond Duck 0803,
Goldhanger would be a fantastic place to live. I'd love it.
Car to Hatfield Peverel or maybe Witham or the train to Liverpool Street.
Tough commute for some for sure, but wake up in a beautiful place on your days off.

Blackmore is lovely
Lived in Meadow Rise as a toddler and then Nine Ashes Road until I was 7. Mum and Dad still very close to Blackmore. It takes about 30 minutes from theirs through the fields to walk to the duck pond.
Learnt to play pool in the sports and social club. My Dad would never allow me to win, must have taken me three years before I beat him, what a feeling that was.
Still try to go the village fayre in summer most years.
